What is a good reaction time?
The average adult reacts to a visual stimulus in roughly 250 milliseconds. Competitive gamers typically score 150β220 ms, athletes around 200 ms, and anything below 150 ms is exceptional. Reaction time naturally slows with fatigue, age and distractions such as a second screen. For the most accurate measurement use a mouse or keyboard rather than a touchscreen, sit at a comfortable distance, and take several attempts β the first one is usually the slowest.
